The Role:

We are looking for someone highly ambitious, energetic and hardworking, with roughly 5 years’ plus financial PR experience, to join our dedicated and growing team. As a dynamic, growing company, Alma offers a great opportunity for members of the team to get immediately involved with all aspects of client management, progress in line with their abilities and make a genuine impact on the business from day one. In particular, the consultant role requires a candidate with the ability to provide thoughtful input into client strategies, to build excellent relationships with clients, journalists and other advisors, and importantly both the dedication and attention to detail necessary to provide the highest quality of service. In return, successful candidates will be given the support, guidance and tools needed to excel in their careers; treated with respect and consideration; and encouraged to use their time wisely, with a focus on quality of output not hours at a desk. 


  • Lead and maintain senior management team level relationships with clients.
  • Write and review results statements, press releases, Q&A, presentations etc to the standard for delivery to client management team.
  • Provide thoughtful strategic input and counsel to senior management team.
  • Demonstrate a broad personal network.
  • Generate new business leads and help to win new business.
  • Effectively manage the delivery of M&A, IPO, crisis comms and provide strategic counsel.
  • Lead clients’ media relations.
  • Manage and respond to any investor enquiries.
  • Oversee the work of less experienced colleagues, mentor and support to resolve issues.
  • Generate and see-through new ideas that contribute to Alma outside of client work.

Key Skills

  • Excellent verbal, content production and writing skills
  • Ability to act under own initiative
  • Extensive experience of liaising with journalists across national business and investment press
  • Ability to manage a team to deliver results
  • Proven track record in prioritising workload as well as effectively managing and supporting junior team members
  • The competence to use initiative and take on responsibility of generating news content
  • Enthusiasm and the willingness to take on and overcome challenges
  • Ability to balance short-term and longer-term strategy
  • Experience of working on M&A transactions, IPOs and other major events as well as financial calendar work
