Brunswick’s work in Healthcare and Life Sciences Brunswick’s Healthcare and Life Sciences team helps clients navigate the complex landscape for healthcare. We do this by combining our deep sector knowledge and our understanding of the issues that matter to innovators, investors, regulators, patients, practitioners, and providers. We work with clients across the sector, including large pharma, medical devices, biotech, medtech and healthtech, manufacturing, healthcare provision, academia and research, and healthcare investors. The Role Associates advise clients and drive execution on accounts, focusing on delivery of workstreams and proactive development of ideas. Associates nurture a wide internal network across offices and specialisms to share, develop and deliver strong work and valuable perspectives to clients and colleagues alike; as well as broadening their external network. Associates demonstrate an ability to advise on clients’ value story or perspective on a specific issue, and how this can be articulated in an impactful way for media and other stakeholders. They also support on effectively engaging media and stakeholders on our clients’ behalf. Key responsibilities: Drive execution on client accounts, managing workflow and key deliverables (e.g. client calls, advice notes, etc.). Advise clients with support of Directors/Partners, drawing on independent experience and insights. Manage complex media interactions, using advanced knowledge of media and stakeholder landscapes. Support Directors/Partners on team management and dynamics, including serving as a mentor to junior team members. Play an active role in new business development, including supporting research on prospective clients, drafting new business proposals and participating in pitch meetings. Candidate specification Candidates will have or be: A minimum of 5 years, working within an international communications agency, advising on cross-border international mandates, or working in house in a communications role within a life sciences business. Deep understanding of the healthcare sector, how it works and the policy environment in which our clients operate, as well as a good working understanding of business and finance. Ability to operate effectively in an entrepreneurial, fast-paced environment. Strong understanding of the UK media landscape and healthcare/pharma reporters in particular. A strong verbal communicator with high EQ levels and an engaging presentation style. Energetic team player with strong self-motivation. Ability to think strategically and creatively, with strong problem-solving skills. Strong attention to detail with the ability to multitask in high-pressure situations.
