The Role Working within the Financial Institutions team, advising many of the world’s largest financial services companies. Associates advise clients and drive execution on accounts, focusing on delivery of workstreams and proactive development of ideas. Associates nurture a wide internal network across offices and specialisms to share, develop and deliver the best examples of work for internal and external use; as well as broadening their external network. Demonstrating an ability to convince media and other stakeholders of the client’s point of view in critical situations and –through strong relationships with your client –to explain how this is being achieved. Key responsibilities: Drive execution on client accounts, managing workflow and key elements of client relationships (e.g. leading regular client calls and other interactions, preparing clients for financial calendar and other corporate announcements). Advise Financial Institution clients, with support of Directors/Partners, on a range of issues – both specific to financial services companies and on broader areas such as ESG and Diversity & Inclusion. . Manage complex media interactions, using advanced knowledge of the financial services and wider business media and of broader stakeholders including regulatory, governmental, and market audiences. Take a significant role in internal team management and dynamics, and acting as a mentor to junior team members. Play an active role in identifying new business opportunities, including drafting new business proposals and participating in pitch meetings. Candidate specification Candidates will have or be: 5 – 7 years’ experience either working in a communications focussed role in a Financial Institution (Banking, Insurance, Private Equity, Asset Management, Market Infrastructure, FinTech) or agency experience, advising financial institution clients. Deep understanding of business and finance. Ability to operate effectively in an entrepreneurial, fast-paced environment. Strong understanding of the UK media landscape. A strong verbal communicator with high EQ levels and an engaging presentation style. Energetic team player with strong self-motivation. Ability to think strategically and creatively, with strong problem-solving skills. Strong attention to detail with the ability to multitask in high-pressure situations. The ability to use financial knowledge and understanding of markets/financial transactions. and their specialist skills to give strategic advice and drive communication programmes.
