Committee Member (Voluntary) 

Overview

The CIPR Corporate & Financial Group is one of the sectoral groups within the Chartered Institute of Public Relations, the world's only Royal Chartered professional body for public relations practitioners, with nearly 10,000 members who are recognised PR professionals.

The CIPR Corporate & Financial Group is seeking an additional volunteer Committee member, with a particular focus on helping coordinate marketing activities for the group.

Responsibilities: 

  • Attending monthly CIPR Corporate & Financial Committee meetings (x 10 per year held early evening)
  • Coordinating marketing of the group across its available marketing and communications channels
  • Marketing upcoming group events, working alongside the Group’s professional Administrator and Secretary
  • Collaborating with other Committee members to develop ideas for activities to engage members
  • Working with Committee members who manage our social media channels to engage existing and future members effectively

About you:

  • In-house or agency background
  • Would suit a mid-career candidate – you do not have to be in a senior role
  • Previous experience in a corporate communications or financial PR role essential
  • Lots of ideas!
  • Able to make the time to get involved with an industry group
  • Have an existing network or wants to grow a network and build social capital along the way
  • Membership of the CIPR is preferred although the successful candidate could join the CIPR on appointment

About the CIPR Corporate & Financial Group

The principal objectives of the CIPR Corporate & Financial Group are to improve the understanding of the role and value of corporate and financial public relations, to promote the highest standards of professional practice, and to provide opportunities for our members to hear from and debate with senior management and media involved in our industry.

Our members fall into four overall categories: financial institutions; general industry and commerce; specialist financial and corporate communications consultancies; and government regulatory bodies.
