Financial Public Relations Account Executive

Citigate Dewe Rogerson, a leading financial communications agency, is looking for a financially literate candidate with relevant experience to join its well-regarded financial PR consultancy practice based in London.

You will work with experienced financial PR professionals to deliver the highest standard of service to our clients while fostering our entrepreneurial spirit and innovative thinking. If you are a graduate, looking for your first role as an Account Executive in financial PR, this role is for you.

The Role

You will be work as part of the financial public relations practice, reporting to a range of client team leaders from the Managing Director downwards. This is a fun and dynamic team who work hard and, through an informal and non-hierarchical atmosphere, also encourage initiative and ideas. This is an exciting position where there is a genuine opportunity to get involved in all aspects of the business leading to career progression. During your first year you will have the opportunity rotate around specialisms and will be supported by both on- the-job and external training opportunities.

You will be responsible for:

No two days are the same within financial public relations. However, below is a broad indication of the sort of activities you would be involved in.

  • Day-to-day account work for a broad range of clients. Work will include:
  • Administration and client support including on Regulatory News Service announcements (RNS)
  • Development of relationships with key media
  • Development of knowledge of media including editorial style, content and journalists.
  • Development and understanding of the media agenda and the way in which stories can be packaged to make them useful and exciting to journalists
  • Development of media sell in techniques
  • Drafting of press releases and other content with support from team leaders
  • Development of understanding of social media for clients and for CDR’s own marketing
  • Support on all other new business activities as necessary
  • Ability and interest in keeping up to date on all news that might impact clients directly or indirectly

We’d like to hear from you if you are…

  • A graduate with a genuine and demonstrable interest in business and the way the financial markets work
  • Articulate; able to communicate confidently with the team, clients and journalists
  • Excellent writing skills; able to communicate effectively and concisely
  • Numerate; able to understand company financial statements
  • Keen attention to detail to ensure high level of accuracy
  • Good time management; able to prioritise effectively and react quickly
  • Good IT skills; PowerPoint skills essential, Excel also desirable
  • Working knowledge of digital media such as Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram etc
  • Ability to meet company standards for planning, reporting and quality of service, including the filling in of timesheets
  • A good team player and work well with colleagues across CDR
  • Ability to be proactive and a self-starter
  • Able to contribute to a happy and supportive working environment
  • Personable and professional, especially mindful of the confidential stock market sensitive information that is dealt with daily
  • Flexible and calm under pressure
