Job Reference: SS23SP4 Start date: July - August 2023 (Flexible date) Salary: London Living Wage Who can apply: School leaver, Undergraduates (current university students) and Graduates Duration of internship: 12 weeks Internship format: In-office (Hybrid) Office location: London As a Communications Intern you will play a central part in a small, high-performing team at an exciting time for our young and fast-growing company. Working across public affairs, media relations and research/polling, you will be responsible for delivering quality work on a number of high-profile accounts, building relationships with clients, and supporting new business. Drawing on your knowledge of news and current affairs and your understanding of traditional and social media, you will be involved in producing research, drafting materials and advising clients on how to handle opportunities and challenges posed by the outside world. This role requires you to have an interest in politics and the media, the ability to plan and prioritise your tasks, high standards in your written work, and the desire to work closely and collaboratively with your colleagues. What will you be doing? New Business: You will contribute ideas in brainstorms; draft, format and proof proposal documents; take part in pitches; and help organise events. Public Affairs: You will arrange MP meetings; draft letters to MPs and Ministers; help organise parliamentary roundtables and other events; monitor relevant parliamentary/political/policy developments; and maintain up-to-date lists of stakeholders Media Relations: You will help to plan communications activity; draft and proof a variety of media materials – including social media posts, blogs press releases, op-eds, speeches and Q&As; monitor relevant news stories; maintain up-to-date lists of relevant journalists; and build relationships with key reporters Research/Polling: You will draft and edit surveys and discussion guides; help run interviews and focus groups; design outputs to land findings clearly and effectively; and brainstorm and identify recommendations and implications Clients: You will ensure our client interactions are professional and efficient by producing agendas for meetings; taking notes and circulating follow-up actions; and responding in a timely way to requests How to apply Please apply with a CV and cover letter (no longer than 250 words) explaining your interest in the position, any relevant experience or transferable skills you may have that makes you suitable for the role.
