Employee Networks and Engagement Executive

Our Head Office department is located in the heart of Piccadilly and occupies the 5th & 6th floor of our beautiful flagship store. This central London location, offers so much to explore including restaurants, bars, cultural sites, shopping and more, and only a short walk from the Green Park Tube Station and plenty of bus stops.

Fortnum & Mason are looking for an Employee Networks and Engagement Coordinator to join the Fortnum’s Family!

This role supports the Internal Communications and Engagement Manager, in delivering the Diversity & Inclusion (D&I) programme and managing our Employee Networks to help develop a truly inclusive environment where each person’s ideas, thoughts and perspectives are treasured.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Working with a diverse range of internal stakeholders, you will input into and drive forward our D&I strategy, throughout the employee journey.
  • Shape our measures of success and define and deliver D&I reporting so that we can have a clear and transparent view of our progress, and springboard for future change
  • Take insight from our employee surveys and listening groups to shape how we create meaningful connections and a sense of community at Fortnum’s in line with our brand.
  • Be a visible and inspiring champion for networking, and work with Subject Matter Experts across the business to coordinate all network at Fortnum’s, including:
  • Sustainability Network, Parental Network, D&I Network and Social and Wellbeing Network.
  • Build momentum with our Employees surrounding our Diversity & Inclusion and Connection & Community agendas by working with members of the Employee Communications team to communicate regularly and host events, which inspire, educate and build awareness.
  • Build relationships with key groups in the community and seek to define ways in which we can work with them to create a support network and help us challenge unconscious bias that exists in society.
  • Work with Marketing & Communications to consistent messaging at key moments in time that helps us to share our story in a way that reflects our brand.
  • Work with the HR team to ensure all policies sufficiently are designed with D&I in mind.

  • Thoughtful communicator with outstanding listening skills who values feedback
  • Diplomatic yet not afraid to do the right thing and speak up in order to galvanise others to create change
  • Confident in building meaningful relationships with internal and external stakeholders (charities, NFPs) to achieve extraordinary things for our colleagues and the community
  • Experience coordinating and running internal events – digitally and in person
  • Degree level ideally with a minimum of two years’ experience working within communications, marketing or HR
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Experience in an operational (retail or hospitality) business preferable
