Global Communications is a function within the HSBC Group, made up of over 400 Communications professionals. We exist in order to contribute to HSBC’s success and our purpose is two-fold:
1.            Externally, to protect and enhance the reputation of HSBC
2.            Internally, to engage our colleagues, build pride and confidence in, and commitment to, HSBC

We focus our time and investment on four impact areas:

1 Telling a compelling story about HSBC’s growth and transformation:
Supporting leaders in communicating the bank’s growth agenda, bringing HSBC’s purpose to life, and demonstrating the value we bring to customers through sector leading products and services. To build investor trust, we bring our strategy and investor proposition to life and illustrate that it is being efficiently delivered.

2 Supporting stronger commercial outcomes:
We are targeted in supporting HSBC’s businesses and geographies to help achieve commercial outcomes: helping to clarify strategic goals, articulating and influencing desired behaviours, and managing and mitigating issues that could have a material impact on HSBC’s success.

3 Strengthening employee advocacy:
We seek to deepen HSBC’s bond with employees by demonstrating our care and investment in them. We aim to show how HSBC is making it easier for colleagues to do their jobs by simplifying processes, removing organisational complexity, investing in learning and development, and empowering teams to make decisions.

4 Reflecting the world to our stakeholders:
Bringing the outside in - representing our audiences and helping to ensure an understanding of them is factored into HSBC’s decision making. We help leadership to navigate the complexities we face, in a world of increased risk for an iconic internationalist business.
