Lena Ofosu-Apeasah "I studied Journalism, Media and Cultural Studies at Cardiff University. When I reflected on my time at university, I remembered how much I had been interested in public relations. After numerous rejections into graduate PR roles and doing lots of unpaid internships, I decided to apply for the Taylor Bennett Foundation to gain more insight into the industry and to gain experience. The programme helped me in so many ways both personally and professionally. The confidence and self-belief in the knowledge I attained and the skills I developed by doing different tasks such as: news reviews, written tasks and appraisals to networking with those in various positions in many agencies has been invaluable, and I still use what I learned to this day. Following the programme, I worked with the Digital Campaigns team at Cabinet Office and 10 Downing Street where I worked on content creation, reports and evaluations and stakeholder engagement in campaigns. I joined Red Consultancy in 2016 as a Graduate Trainee and I’m now an Account Manager working to help others to get into the industry too".
