Our staff have experience of these support services, so can be better partners for young people as they develop the skills and experience to be future leaders. Together, we create ways for them to be heard and influence action as we support those delivering, designing or commissioning services for young people.

What we are looking for?

We are looking for a Digital Media and Communications Manager who is excited by the opportunity to co-plan and co-produce content with Peer Power’s Young Partners and the whole team; to tell the story of the charity, its projects and campaigns, creating content that reflects our values, personality and the voices of our Young Partners, as well as advancing our mission.

You will be a digital media expert and an excellent content planner and creator - both written and visual. You’ll be able to raise Peer Power’s profile, plan and execute high quality digital campaigns, and reach varied stakeholders through social media, our website and communications like newsletters, reports and infographics.

You will also work alongside Peer Power’s Young Partners to help design and communicate their social action projects and campaigns, system change activities and training packages.

We’re looking for someone who will work with Peer Power’s Young Partners on a level playing field with equal power. Someone with a track record of coproducing projects alongside those with lived experience, who is able to engage, empathise with and support young
people to influence change in the health and justice system.


  • Brand & Strategy - Lead the development of the Peer Power brand and presence across all communications and marketing channels
  • Digital Media - Maintain the Peer Power website, ensuring engaging content forpartners, supporters and the general public
  • Content Creation - Plan and create engaging, on brand multimedia content for PeerPower’s social media accounts, in partnership with Young Partners, to reach necessary stakeholders - including video, podcasts, photos, images, data visualisations, live social media & innovative formats
  • Media & Events - Generate media coverage by landing visual content in digital, print and broadcast media outlets.
  • Leadership - Line manage a person in a junior communications role and engage the Peer Power team and Young Partners in
    communications work

Person specification 


  • Demonstrable experience in a leading or collaborative role within digital media & communications

Knowledge and experience:

  • Experience of co-designing creative communications projects and campaigns with people with lived experience
  • Experience of successful relationship building and collaborative working with a diverse range of stakeholders from different backgrounds
  • Solid working knowledge of digital trends and developments with a track record of building brand presence, following & engagement across social media platforms
  • Experience planning & producing high-impact content for social media, website, and various marketing materials (copy, video, podcasts, photos, images, data visualisations)
  • Experience using design and visual editing software
  • Experience of using a content management system to update websites e.g., WordPress

Skills and Abilities:

  • Able to work autonomously, prioritise, handle pressure and take day-to-day decisions
  • Able to exercise diplomacy, sensitivity and resourcefulness
  • Collaborative team-player, able to play to different people’s strengths and abilities and build partnerships and consensus
  • Excellent negotiation and influencing skills
  • Willing to learn quickly and adapt to new situations, seeking appropriate advice and expertise where needed
  • Good time management and organisational skills and the ability to work proactively to meet tight deadlines
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
