The intern will work within the newly established Group Regulatory Policy team, which has been set up to influence future regulatory developments which affect the Banks' operating model. The team works hand in hand with the Group Public Affairs function which manages our relationship with Government and policy-makers.

The intern will undertake a range of activities including watching Select Committee appearances and providing succinct summaries at pace. They will also prepare/contribute to internal documents for review by senior audiences. 

Essential skills / experience

  • The intern should ideally have a curiosity to learn more about public affairs and/or regulatory policy.
  • They should have good communication skills and the ability to manage and explore queries on policy issues under guidance of one of the team.
  • They should also have a broader interest in current affairs and how this affects the banking/financial services sector.

  • Strong analytical and written skills
  • Well organised and adaptable
