Consumer PR and Social Media Intern – Splendid (4 months FTC)

Splendid is looking for a Consumer PR and Social Media Intern to join its successful team on the “Splendid Futures” programme. This four-month paid internship will provide the successful applicant with the opportunity to work on some of the world’s most iconic brands as well as getting hands-on experience at one of London’s most respected communications agencies.

Splendid has adapted its office environment and ways of working to keep staff and clients safe and follow government advice around Coronavirus. This role will therefore include the option for combining remote working with working in the office (or where government advice permits, all weekdays may be spent in the office), which is located in East London and has Covid-secure measures in place. While working remotely, video conferencing tools enable us to collaborate and coach team members in an uninterrupted way.

The successful candidate will be provided with a laptop and full home working IT setup for the duration of the internship to ensure their workspace is appropriate and fit for purpose.

  • Strong interest in pursuing a career in Consumer PR and Social Media and a good understanding of what both involve
  • Passion for reading a range of print and online editorial media, social and digital news updates and following content from lifestyle influencers
  • Understanding and enthusiasm for how the most popular social media channels work, with some knowledge of how brands use them
  • Strong skills in written and spoken English communication as well as listening
  • Good attention to detail and a commitment to producing high quality work
  • Ability to work in a team with others in a professional and mature way as well as take on tasks individually

  • This role is open to those with and without previous experience in media relations, social media, content creation, events and/or production (experience is useful but not essential)

You will need to be available to start this role within three to four weeks of making your application, although the exact start date will be agreed during your interview process.

Many of our interns have been successful in securing a permanent role with Splendid after the initial internship period. For this reason, we only accept applications from those who have finished studying or are not committed to another job and are therefore able to consider a potential role directly after the internship.
