    We are delighted to offer a twelve-week internship to an enthusiastic and bright student who is keen to combine his/her communication skills with a desire to make a positive difference in the world.

    Our organisation is large in size and clear in its purpose, delivering real impact. In our sector, we are rated as the most effective comms team by journalists and you will be working alongside colleagues with vast experience in journalism, PR and in-house communications.

    What you will do:

    The internship will focus on two of these:

    Social Media including channel strategy; organic and paid content creation; paid-for campaign planning; scheduling; measurement and evaluation; influencer liaison; and asset management.

    Media Liaison working directly with cancer patients and survivors who agree to share their story to help raise awareness of the charity’s objectives and impact. Their stories are used to support social media and PR, plus marketing, publications, corporate partner pitches and more.

    We will work with the successful internship candidate to co-create meaningful specific projects with the above teams, tailored to his/her interests as much as possible.

    The skills they are looking for: 

    • Strong communication skills, written and oral
    • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to engender trust and support from colleagues and external clients
    • Ability to troubleshoot, resolve issues quickly, creatively and calmly.  
    • Confidence and sensitivity in working closely with ‘case studies’ and their families
    • Ability to work to timescales and strict deadlines, prioritize work, balance competing demands and work under pressure.
