What will you be working on throughout the internship? 

The intern will support the Insurance, Pensions & Investments (IPI) business partner team on a number of internal communications and thought leadership/media activations, including:

  • Work alongside team members to prepare and deliver the IPI all colleague call – this will be the first session after structural changes so essential to engage colleagues and ensure they understand the purpose and priorities for the business unit for the remainder of the year
  • Delivery of weekly news update to all IPI colleagues
  • End to end ownership (with appropriate support and guidance) of a series of self filmed colleague vox-pops to give a flavour of the people who work across the business unit, what they do and how they help Britain prosper (keen to have some creative thinking on the execution of this activity from the intern)
  • Delivery of weekly IPI media summary
  • Responsible for putting forward ‘news-jacking’ opportunities to support key IPI media objectives
  • Work alongside team members to analyse Scottish Widows Retirement Report data and identify untapped story angles with a view to delivering one of these (create press release, obtain sign off, sell into media)
  • Be part of the team delivering the IPI auto-enrolment media campaign
