What will you be working on throughout the internship? Research project on media publications: Challenge and analyse the value of targeting (unorthodox) publications outside our normal sphere; evolving media trends and media relations engagement Research and insight into how brands/ organisations are using podcasts, alternative channels and social channels to communicate and engage with media in different ways; what can we learn? Supporting the media relations team and wider Corporate Affairs function on the Group’s sustainability narrative and development, including working with our Commercial Banking business to support our net zero goals Playing an active role as part of the media relations team including shadowing on media plans, preparation of press releases and other assets Involvement in media strategy and brainstorming sessions Contact with journalists (TBC: selling in press releases and campaigns, handling information requests) Skills or experience we are looking for: Good oral and written skills Attention to detail Understanding of core IT programmes (Microsoft word, excel, Teams etc) Good research and analysis skills Comfortable with public speaking Desirable skills or experience: Curiosity and creativity Ability to think laterally Confidence to share ideas and challenge Interest in media (print, online, social media) Experience of working in a fast-paced environment What qualities are we looking for in an intern?
