About the role

The ideal candidate will have a strong desire to gain valuable experience in a fast-paced agency environmentsupporting a wide range of integrated public affairs, public relations and media relations campaigns.

You will have the opportunity to work across multiple industries and typeof organisation, particularly in our core sectors: financial services, energy, transport and agrifood.

Reporting to Account Managers and Account Directors on various client accounts you will have excellent research skills, a genuine interest in current affairs, and an understanding of the UK political and media landscape

Key responsibilities 

  • Building and maintaining awareness of current affairs and external developments, relevant to our business and client objectivesmaking you an important resource for client teams.
  • Conducting thorough and timely research to inform client work.
  • Maintaining up-to-date and accurate media and stakeholder lists for clients and projects.
  • Following up with parliamentary offices to secure meetings with political stakeholders
  • Drafting communications documents including monitoring briefs, agendas, press releases, features, political briefing notes, biographies etc.
  • Pitching client comment and news stories to trade and national media, and following up accordingly.
  • Supporting Hume Brophy’s business development efforts.
  • Providing administrative support as required
