We currently have a vacancy for a Programme Manager to join our team. The Programme Manager will be working directly with our partners to deliver our growing Summer Stars internship programme and PR Mentoring programme. About Taylor Bennett Foundation The Taylor Bennett Foundation is a charity that exists to encourage ethnically diverse people to pursue a career in communications and Public Relations. We do this through our award-winning PR training programme, Summer Stars internship programme and our mentoring programmes, as well as developing other initiatives. Established by communications executive search firm Taylor Bennett in partnership with the University of East London in 2008 and founder agency Brunswick Group, the Foundation seeks to address the need for greater diversity in the public relations & communications industry. With the support of leading communication agencies and in-house teams, we run professional development programmes including mentoring schemes and internship programme. Our programmes enable talent from diverse communities to develop the knowledge, skills and professional networks required to pursue a career in communications. The Summer Stars programme The Summer Stars internship programme offers paid internships with agencies and in-house communications teams for students, graduates, and school leavers. Summer Stars starts with an immersive three-day PR & Communications bootcamp. The bootcamp is comprised of masterclasses which provide our Summer Stars interns with the opportunity to build their knowledge of the industry before they begin their internships. The PR Mentoring programme The PR Mentoring programme is for people interested in or already working in public relations (PR) and communications the opportunity to join our six-month mentoring programme. Designed to directly address the need for greater ethnic diversity in the communications and PR industry, the mentoring programme is an opportunity for mentees to gain a clear understanding of the public relations industry. We do this by providing insight into the different strands of the sector, readying candidates for the job market, alongside identifying career objectives with the support and guidance from an experienced practitioner. The role The Programme Manager will manage the delivery of our Summer Stars internship programme and PR Mentoring programme. They will be responsible for managing and delivering support to candidates, business partners and other supporting organisations. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in helping our candidates compete on a level playing field with their more advantaged peers. Key relationships The Programme Manager will build, establish and maintain good and professional working relationships with: Employers in the PR & Communications industry (agencies and in-house) Taylor Bennett Foundation student, graduate, and alumni network. Universities, careers services, relevant university societies and community organisations working with ethnically diverse people. Programme management (Summer Stars internship programme) For the Summer Stars programme, the Programme Manager will primarily focus on supporting our candidates into paid internships at PR agencies and in-house comms teams for paid internships and will be responsible for coordinating the annual Summer Stars three day bootcamp. Programme management (PR Mentoring programme) For the mentoring programme, the Programme Manager will primarily focus on recruiting and matching our candidates to mentors in the industry.
