About the firm  

The One Nine Three Group (193) is an independent advisory firm specialising in corporate  affairs, financial communications and investor relations. Founded in November 2019 and  with offices in New York, East Hampton, London and Amsterdam, we work directly with  company boards, CEOs, and other executive decision makers on a variety of reputational  and business critical issues including transactions, strategic positioning, crisis management and special situations. We are seeking intellectually curious and entrepreneurially minded  individuals with a diversity of backgrounds and experiences to join our growing team. 

About the role  

We are seeking an Associate with 2-5 years of work experience in corporate/financial  communications, law, consulting, investment banking, government, or journalism. This  individual will utilize their experience to support our team of senior advisors in the UK and  Europe working across clients and time zones. Responsibilities will include managing client  account operations, development of written and presentational content, research to inform  advisory efforts, and supporting new business development. 

The ideal candidate will have: 

  • Exceptional and proven critical thinking, research and analytical skills
  • Clarity of thought and expression across all modes of communication
  • A strong work ethic and a commitment to the firm’s priorities 
  • Well-developed core technical skills across the Microsoft suite 
  • Ability to manage time effectively and the experience and confidence to make  decisions on prioritization
  • Experience of managing complex projects across internal and external stakeholders
  • Intellectual curiosity and an interest in understanding the trends shaping society and  the business world, as well as the role reputation management plays in helping  companies accomplish their objectives

Additional preferred skills and experience: 

  • Experience with financial databases (Bloomberg, S&P Capital IQ, FactSet); media  databases (Factiva, Signal AI); and/or legal databases (Westlaw; Bloomberg Law;  LexisNexis) 
  • Familiarity with a broad range of capital markets processes (M&A, IPOs, SPACs, fund  raises), ESG and sustainability topics 
  • Financial fluency, including accounting, reporting, and valuation methods
  • Language skills in additional to English, particularly French, German, or Dutch
