Chartered Institute of Public Relations | Board of Directors

Join the CIPR Board of Directors

The Chartered Institute of Public Relations is seeking dedicated and passionate individuals from outside its own membership to join the CIPR Board of Directors.

As a Board member, you will have a legal responsibility for the governance of the Institute, helping to shape the future of the CIPR. You don’t need to be a CIPR member to apply, as we are looking for a mix of members and non-members. You also do not need prior experience as a director, trustee, or in a similar role to stand for election, but you will be required to demonstrate that you meet the criteria in our Board Director skills matrix. If elected, we will provide you with any necessary training to induct you to your role effectively.

Election process

Our Council will elect three new Board members in November 2025 to serve a three-year term from 1st January 2026 to 31st December 2028.

What we’re looking for

We are seeking individuals who can provide leadership on key issues facing CIPR over the next three years, including:

  • Effective financial oversight of a complex organization
  • Supporting the business development of the Institute
  • Identifying and managing risks
  • Allocating resources to achieve CIPR’s goals in line with our strategy and Charter
  • Ensuring inclusivity and representation, meeting the National Equality Standard.
  • Willingness to serve as chair or deputy chair of one of the CIPR’s standing committees

How to apply

Full information including a role description, Board director skills matrix and our online application form is available on our website.  Please submit your application before the deadline, Monday 9 June 2025.
