Overview of the agency
The Ripple Effect is the award-winning Communications with Conscience® agency. Our unique positioning has resulted in financial gains and brand fame for our clients & dovetails with our belief that you can create profit in the creative PR space in an ethical way. We deliver meaningful work for leading brands and charities across the UK and internationally.

This work is driven by insight and enhanced by creativity – boosted by our phenomenal track record of impactful PR and content across both broadcast and press. Our approach is rooted in integrity, transparency, and a genuine commitment to making a difference.

We make brands heard in a way that conventional agencies ignore – delivering world-class earned PR which creates tangible impact: right time, right place, right audience. We commit to donating 2.5% of our profits to independent charity partners each year, selected and voted on by everyone in the agency. We have donated in excess of £20,000 to date.

Following 4 years of fantastic, consistent, growth and client wins, we’re looking to hire an Account Manager to our team. We’re looking for that rare publicist-leaning Account Manager who gets as much fulfilment and buzz from securing coverage, as they do mapping out a creative campaign approach or budget.

Sectors we work in:
As a consumer PR agency that falls naturally into the Third Sector, we work with an array of charities and good causes. The day-to-day of our business is extremely varied and, despite being a small start-up agency, the last few years have seen us produce incredible work:

From a highly successful research-led Christmas campaign for Dogs Trust (an award-winning multiphase rollout) and launching a limited edition football shirt for homelessness charity Street Soccer – even working with them to sponsor Team England at the Homeless World Cup in Oslo (next up, Mexico City!) to a photography exhibition at Saatchi Gallery celebrating service dogs for The Kennel Club Charitable Trust, and spearheading a petition for 136 charities across the UK to end youth homelessness (which received over 10,000 signatures prompting a Government response – the issue debated in Commons for the first time in 40 years) and finding out how people want to eat, drink and travel for the likes of OpenTable & KAYAK.

We’re incredibly proud of the work we do here and the lasting ripples of impact we set in motion.

To get a feel for the work we do, watch our main showreel here and our new sport-specific reel here.

We also have a market research function through our Ripple Research business, which you’ll be working across as we blend data with creativity. More on that here.

Most recently, we picked up TWO UK Content Awards for our Happy Place Index work with Dogs Trust: Not for Profit Campaign of the Year, and Best Use of Research – perfectly complementing each side of our growing business.

What we will offer you in return

  • £38-40k per annum (on pro-rata basis, dependent on experience)
  • Hybrid working – 1-2 days in the office, flexible working outside of this
  • 4 day week at 5 day pay
  • 30 days paid holiday per year (on pro-rata basis) following successful completion of 3-month probationary period
  • A zero tolerance policy towards abuse of any kind, from team members or clients
  • No individual bonus schemes. We thrive as a company and are rewarded as a company. Annual bonuses paid at all levels if company hits targets
  • Pension after 3 months via NEST, invested sustainably

Your role

We are looking for that rare Publicist-leaning PR Account Manager who has developed their client management skillset, but still loves to sell-in stories – and gets a thrill from gaining top tier coverage for clients big and small.

At The Ripple Effect, we strongly believe that employees at all levels – including our Co-Founders – should continue to develop their journalist contacts throughout their careers. As such, we would also consider fast-progression Senior Account Executives for this role (at alower starting salary of £33-35k per annum).

We’re looking for a candidate who is hard-working – with huge enthusiasm and drive – and someone who would be interested in helping to shape our small but mighty agency from the ground up.

You will have direct access to the Co-Founders, and all opinions on how to do things differently are encouraged, providing an opportunity to gain experience of working in a busy agency environment.

Passion for doing good and leaving a positive mark on the people and communities around you is essential… And we’re looking for someone with a different world view that we can learn from too.

Our Account Manager will be responsible for keeping accounts running smoothly, managing client relationships and monitoring KPIs. You will be proactive with ideas for expanding our creative comms remit, whilst setting a fantastic example for Account Executives and Interns.

You will play a critical role in supporting the whole team and we will view you as an integral part of our small agency, with plenty of exposure to senior leadership and clients alike. In return, we will offer a variety of training during your employment, including initial training on our intern systems for time management, pitching and monitoring across traditional media and broadcast PR – and select PR and comms courses to continue your professional growth.

We also offer a generous holiday package and an additional enrichment day per quarter where you are encouraged to volunteer and a local community project or spend time learning a new skill, as well as plenty of team bonding.

Our office is based on Eel Pie Island in Twickenham. We operate a flexible working model, committing to 1-2 days a week in the office as a team either on the Island, or in co-working spaces across Paddington, Soho and Shoreditch.

Our Island office is truly unique, and as a space that was made famous for jazz and rock music in the 60s – hosting the likes of The Rolling Stones and Pink Floyd since – it’s the perfect place for creative work.

The skills we’re looking for:

  • Strong PR and media relations experience and, importantly, experience of securing quality coverage regularly
  • Clear, concise and effective communication skills
  • Ability to manage time and prioritise a list of projects across multiple topics
  • Proactive problem-solving around client and team requests
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects
  • You’ll be self-motivated, ambitious & driven
  • Proficiency in Microsoft and Google Office suites
  • Experience in using social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, TikTok) with an understanding of likes, comments and engagement rates
  • Experience of managing junior team members and interns
  • Exposure to or experience of new business pitching
  • An understanding of the news agenda and media across online, print TV and radio
  • Experience of working with data (e.g. ONS) or consumer research
