Our Summer Stars internship programme, which launched in 2018, offers paid internships in agencies and in-house communications teams for BAME students, graduates and school leavers (18+).

The Summer Stars programme kicks off with a 3 day intensive PR & Communications bootcamp at the end of June, for which interns’ travel expenses will be paid. The boot camp provides our Summer Stars interns with the opportunity to build their knowledge of the industry, before heading out into the workplace. Placements last a minimum of 4 weeks but can last up to a year, sometimes going permanent.

The programme has gone from strength to strength, starting it’s pilot year in 2018 with 34 placements, which we increased to 48 in 2019. We hope 2020 will be the best year yet!

2019 agencies and in-house comms teams supporting our Summer Stars programme are:

Action for Children, Aequitas, Aspectus Group, Barclays Brunswick Group, Buchanan CityPress, Eversheds Sutherland LLP, Facebook FleishmanHillard Fishburn, Freud Communications, Gemma Bell and Company, Hackney Council, Hanover, Hume Brophy, iAir/British Airways, Imperial War Museums, Islington Council, Kekst CNC, Land Securities, Launch, MOO Print Ltd, Pagefield PR, Performance Communications, Porter Novelli Limited, Public Relations & Communications Association (PRCA), Ready10, Red Consultancy, Smith & Nephew, Stand Agency, Sutton, Teneo, The Academy, The Carlyle Group, The Octopus Group, Third City, Thread and Bloom, V&A Museum and W2O Group.

Details of how to apply will be posted on our website 2020, but in the meantime you can register your interest here to be sent the application form when it’s released.

You literally picked the PERFECT internship for me !!!! I'm loving it so much, everyone is so kind and welcoming and I'm learning so much (such a variety of clients and tasks).

I've got a great buddy and line manager and they give me feedback regularly. The office culture and ethics of Porter Novelli Is really great too and in line with my own ideas and morals so it's been such a useful learning experience.
